and so you reinforce that belief every time you tell every helper that you couldn’t have done it without them
our words are powerful, and we can express gratitude without using words that insinuate our not-enoughness
the truth is, you COULD have done it without them
it might have been more difficult, or taken longer, or not been as well done even… but you are resourceful + intelligent + oh-so-capable, and you’ve got no business saying otherwise about yourself
again… i’m not saying we’re here to do all the things on our own, or that there aren’t things we absolutely need help with

but it’s long past time that we normalize the process of DISCERNING over DEFAULTING, and CHOOSING over LOSING
discerning what you do + don’t “got” over defaulting to a place where only others know best
